The goal of this project was to take the patta air max 1 maroon rush color way and improve it in my own way. I felt that the original lacked emphasis on the mudguard which is what made the shoe special. I wanted to emphasize that.
The term heat wave comes from heat maps and the shapes that are created in those heat maps. I felt that this design choice of having contained areas with having each panel on the shoe be its own "Heat map" added an interesting visual element instead of doing a wave pattern design which is what I initially was leaning towards completing.
The name "heat wave" is a play on words with the design of the project being based on heat maps, but also how hyped shoes can be considered as "heat"

T-Shirt and Nike logo design ideas to further the idea of a heat map
Originally was going to do an ocean levels concept with the midsole being sand, then leads up from the darker levels of the ocean on the mudguard, to the clouds and blue sky of the upper. That ideation was the first row. THe shoe in the first column second row was an ideation of recreating the wave from katsushika Hokusai's woodblock print "The Great Wave off Kanagawa"
Ideation of different ways the heat wave could be interpreted as a logo as well as some different shirt designs
Different shirt design ideations
Shirt at the end of the first row was going to be layered stitching on top of the blue shirt to give an effect of depth and extra texture to the shirt
